How can I get involved?
We’re looking for all kinds of help to make this project as successful as possible, whether you’re highly skilled in something specific or have a ton of enthusiasm in just about anything we’re looking for you.
Herbarium Masters – Know what a herbarium is? No worries… ever pressed some flowers or plants when you were a child? This is just part of what we’re doing with Garden_lab. Know your hyacinths from your hydrangeas? Think you’ve got pretty green fingers? Lend your skills and and knowledge to archiving the plants and shrubs of this space.
Creatives – As well as documenting the physical contents of the garden, we want to create all kinds of responses to the space. Are you a landscape painter, a field recorder, a poet, or perhaps all. We want to the archive to house as much rich and diverse content imaginable. Come and run a workshop or just find a place to draw and write and add it to the legacy of the garden.
Photographers/Film-makers – Good at capturing a scene, documenting a day, or filming and editing footage? We want to show how important and fun it is to work together as citizen scientists and prove the necessity there is of conducting biodiverse green space surveys that take into account the impact of the space on health, imagination, creativity and community and not just label certain plants and wildlife as valuable or not.
Volunteers – Got some free time? Want to spend more of it outside? Like meeting new people and learning something in the process. We’ve got the space, and the projects. Lend a hand whenever you can.
